in other words, in your view, we should return to the times of slavery,
segregation, and no universal suffrage? women should be denied the vote
because the original writers didn't include it? also, if that's your view,
then all the amendments should be stricken because they weren't originally
present at the moment the constitution was drafted.

also, what about the fact of changing technologies? when the constitution
was written, the telephone, let alone the computer and internet, weren't
quite invented yet. should we not have protections on these mediums as
well? given that the fbi has a rather sordid history of spying on domestic
(non-militant) groups, and infiltrating any group which may have some
ideas opposed to the current (at the time) government, you don't think
it's wise to limit the intelligence gathering abilities of law
enforcement?

i'm not too thrilled about the current world in which we live, but if our
leaders held the same views as bill, there would be federal agents on
every corner inspecting our national id cards to make sure we weren't
violating our conscripted movement patterns.
