Dave,

I figured you were. I raced road bikes/track bikes professionally in 1970-72
seasons. I did ride 450 to 500 miles a week....plus the races. My bad knees
are a testament to this abusive era.

Isn't it great that the most recent physiological research has found that
interval training and diet can reduce the miles and the wear and tear on or
bodies....as well as produce athletes who break all of the existing records.
Armstrong has been a great beneficiary and example (poster boy) of the 'new'
world of exercise physiology.

Much of this new way of exercise can be applied to the very physical
business of playing musical instruments. Practicing smart pays big dividends
in the long run. As you pointed out....we still have to make the sacrifice.
Lance does still ride a lot of miles....and I still have to practice a lot
of hours.
