Forest,

I'm well aware of all the research and theory surrounding competitive
performance on a bike - I've read much of the literature and have spent
thousands of miles on the bike myself. Yes, I am aware of overtraining.

I am quite sure that Lance spends a fair amount of time on the bike.
Greg Lemond, an earlier example, was well versed in the issues relative
to training and still rode 400-500 miles a week during the season.

I stand by the relevance of the quote to the thread.
