Everyone keeps repeating how heavy the Wiseman cases
are. I think people are missing one thing. The trough
cases are for FOUR instruments. If you compare them to
*2* double cases, they are lighter by a wide margin.

Also, putting 4 instruments in the case makes it
heavier than putting 2 instruments in a double case. I
think that the Wiseman trough cases are a lot lighter
PER INSTRUMENT.

The formed insert cases from Wiseman (so I have heard)
are heavier than the trough cases because of the extra
materials. I wasn't interested in those cases, since I
already have the formed insert case for all of my
instruments that they came in.

I purchased my Wiseman trough case to hold my Eb, C,
Bb, and A clarinets at the same time. Are there other
cases that can accomplish this? I haven't heard of any
as of yet. Howard also makes custom cases for any
instrumentation combination, including saxophones,
bass clarinets, brass and string instruments, etc. I'm
not familiar with other custom case makers that will
do this.

There are always compromises for getting something to
do everything. If there were no compromises on a
single case maker, we'd all have that case to hold our
clarinets, woudn't we?
