I have been debating whether or not to take my clarinets with me to try
mouthpieces because of the 9-11 thing. I just spoke to the folks at
IcelandAir (my carrier) and was assured that it would not be a problem. I
was told I will be expected to open the case for inspection and it might
even be x-rayed too, but that it can be taken as a carry-on. I'm still not
certain about taking them though. I have a metal jaw and ankle that cause
all kinds of trouble when passing through security. I have to present a
note from my physician every time I fly. That's bad enough without having
to go through an instrument frisking too. Dan, I know you are performing
and don't have a choice. Any suggestions pro or con?

Nancy (who is so looking forward to my cool stopover in Reykjavik - it's
100 in the shade outside!)
