My (former) teacher used to drive for 3 hours once a month to study with
Robert Listokin when he was an undergrad. I think he spent the weekend
there, if I remember right. Listokin came to my school a few years ago,
taught some lessons and a masterclass, and I could definitely see why my
teacher went out of his way to study with him.=20
As an aside, I like to think of teachers in sort of a family tree. My
teacher is my teacher (duh), my teacher's teacher is my grand-teacher,
and so on and so forth. Kind of silly, I know, but with this reasoning,
my teacher studied with Listokin (among others), and Listokin studied
with Daniel Bonade. So, it follows that Daniel Bonade is my
great-grand-teacher.=20
Good logic, eh?
