I didn't say I that I didn't like his playing. His rubato style is great on
the Brahms. I just said that I personally didn't like his rubato style on the
second movement of the Stravinsky. I have liked much of what I have heard
that he played, but admittedly I have not heard a lot of his recordings. I
do know that he did a lot for clarinet playing when he was alive. In fact,
from what is being said on another thread, it sort of sounds like he might
have been the Stoltzman of his time.
