Ah, I wasn't AS confused as you thought, but this clears things up. I was
commenting on Superstardom in this context and being recognized by the public

(and not clarinetists :P). So, Stoltzman's CD's in K-mart well, yeah. Benny

Goodman was the same as far as recognition goes, but didferent in nature to
Stoltzman's popularity in my opinion. Ro my knowledge, Goodman wasn't trying

to pass himself off as a classical or even Renaissance Man clarinet player as

much as Stoltzman does (except when he DID play classical clarinet
works...we'll expunge those from the record. His Debussy is...well...I like
his Live at Carnegie Hall recordings better).

I hope that makes some sense...
