I disagree. I believe Stoltzman has done more for clarinet and music in
general than a lot of "superstars" have by making it more mainstream and
increasing exposure. In my opinion, however unorthodox some things he may do

are, he makes music (forget the money). No one plays Copland like he does,
in my opinion, but I'm not fond of his Mozart. However, I am indebted to him

in some small way because of the things he has done for music with a clarinet

in his hands and without. He takes much more criticism than he deserves.
But, just so you know - I don't own a single Stoltzman recording :-) That's
my view...
