Dan, do you mean for basset horn in F? The Winterthur MS goes to high E and
F in bar 142, but then as you said some time in a past discussion about
Mozart writing high notes for the clarinet, that's not comparable because
that's for basset horn in G and not for (basset) clarinet in A. As far as
the high C# goes, that's in bar 150 of the same MS. I'm not an expert on
Mozart or manuscripts, I just have a copy of this one because it's so
important to me. Maybe I missed your point here? Please let me know if this
is an oversight or if there is another point to it as I value your
contributions immensly!
