I understand your comments. And I certainly spend time working on reeds like

everybody else. In response to your quote from the past, Marcellus once said

in an interview, very shortly before his death, that he much preferred the
Moree cane from his days in the orchestra to the cane now. I absolutely
agree that a reed I'd use to play a chamber music recital is different from
an orchestra reed, but both would adhere to a few basic standards.
