In 1997, prior to a performance of this piece (which I have to confess to
love, even if it's not all by Mozart) Dan Leeson put me on the trail of
some reading about the story of this piece.

Also, Levin's book references a helpful article in the Mozart Jahrbuch,
if you want to know even more. Levin also writes about a wonderful book
titled "Paperchase". I've forgotten the author, but it is fascinating if
you like detective stories. (Or even if you don't) Sorry - I've forgotten
the author.
