Yes, I just reviewed the recording (Stoltzman/Seattle) for "The
Clarinet". My impression of the piece was that it was over orchestrated -
made it difficult, even on a recording, to balance the soloist with the
orchestra. I can see that in a live performance, the soloist might feel
the need to force the solo part to the front.

BTW, the composer's name is Jeffrey *Nytch*
