Congratulations!

Lemme throw a positive light (and maybe a little unabashed optimism) on
the whole sampled music thread. This CD's existence and review goes to
show that business is business and the law of supply and demand applies.

As long as there is a markett for real clarinetists performing, someone
will provide the ability for this market to get real clarinetists
performing. In the worst case scenario, it a niche market, but many
people eat every day from funds generated by providing to niche markets.

Another example: The 80's saw uses of electronic keyboards to replace
horn sections in bands. There are still horns in bands today that want
that sound. Why? People want the artistry and the musical uniqueness
that electronics cannot provide--there is a demand for warm bodies
blowin' real air.

Martin: Congratulations on the great review of your CD in The Clarinet.
Son et lumiere is definitely worth a listen. As the reviewer says,
"Martin Powell is a remarkable clarinetist..." Please don't stop
recording -- many of us want to hear much more from you!
