According to unofficial sources, the finalists are:

Scott Andrews, Boston Symphony second clarinetist;
Ricardo Morales, Metropolitan Opera principal;
Michael Rusinek, Pittsburgh Symphony principal.

They will each do some playing in the orchestra during the Fall. 2002 season before a final decision
is reached.
