Neil, if this was not humor/satire.....

Please spell out for me whether "C3" is the 3rd C that a clarinet plays
two lines above the staff (and not concert pitch), or is it concert
pitch and the 3rd C on a keyboard? And since "pedal tone" is for brass
instruments and doesn't apply in this context, do you mean to double the
D on a keyboard and sustain the lower D with the pedal?
