This thread reminds me of a old joke. A gentlemen was pulling a chain
through a small town when someone, sitting on a porch, asked him why he
was pulling the chain. He answered, "have you ever tried to push one".

Fond memories, Jay, very fond memories!

When I was a kid, I was walking with my parents down the center of our
town's main street during an evening street dance, and a drunken
prankster actually did that (insisted on dragging a chain through the
crowd) and he hollered out the explanation as a policeman escorted him
and his chain elsewhere. My parents felt the man deserved applause
instead of a trip to the carcel.
