To me, the community band should be for High School Graduates as
current High School Students can still play in their band which is a
sort of community band for younger players. I think that having an age
limit of 30 or 50 is really, really bad as there is much talent on
both spectrums that is left out by their silly limitations.
Both are ridiculous to me. As long as the players have the point of
view of the conductor, then all goes smoothly ;)

Our community band limits membership to "50 years or older." Tony
Pay
posted that the school where he teaches in the summer requires "under
30".

I suppose that each of these limts is an effort to gather players who
are more likely to have a similar point of view.
