A former student of mine is finishing her BA in Business
Administration. She kept studying clarinet until age 22 because she
wanted to. No professional goals, just interest. But she was talking
to a group of, say, eight of her school chums about this and that,
including musical instruments. When she mentioned that she played the
clarinet, the others in the group said, "Ha! Clarinet. What does that
one look like, anyway?" It turned out that she was the only person in
the group who knew what a clarinet was.

These are the achievers, the national leaders of tomorrow.

Cheers?

But it's a lovely day in sunny Reykjavik, and they are playing Les
Noces on the Arts Festival tonight.

Anna
