A simple association of this type doesn't do any explanatory work. Two

Tony, I'm glad that we've narrowed the topic to this central issue. My
lack of further comment is because I need a 'time out' to read and to
think (and to listen afresh and to think as I play).

However in order to avoid misunderstanding, I want to add one last
phrase in order to clarify the meaning that I intended in my earlier
post:

<<The question is: would I profit or lose if music didn't deliver these
feelings to me? @-----."
However I suspect that, deep down, many of us would like to reply:
"That's the courteous thing to say, but really and truly, you're missing
the whole point of music, ALBEIT WE MAY NOT AGREE WHAT THE POINT
ACTUALLY IS!">>

Another thought that has flashed through my mind is: Do (say) food
flavors summon as many 'extra-its-own-domain' images as music does? Or
is music special this regard?

...anyway, thanks to everyone who has spoken (or who will continue to
speak) on this topic. I need to do some thinking and reading before I
spout off any further.

Cheers,
Bill
