It's the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment; so period instruments,
in the rather large Fountain Court at Somerset House London, on July 2.
We'll be lightly amplified so as to be able to compete with the seagulls
and aeroplanes, and champagne is served;-)

It's Edition Compusic, Amsterdam. The arranger isn't definitively
known, although as Dan Leeson said, Wenzel Sedlak is suspected. We've
also done the Fidelio transcription, which *is* by Sedlak.

Just to answer one of Dan's remarks; he said:

...which I hope depends at least a little bit on how we choose to play
it:-)

Mine's an original period instrument: maker Proff (à Tours) 6 keys, the
'extra' one being a C#/G#. I think Jane Booth will be playing a copy of
a Grenser, which has a not-needing-to-be-half-holed low B, very useful
for playing 2nd clarinet parts.

I'm at present entering the C clarinet parts into Sibelius, because the
editor helpfully provided only parts transposed for Bb clarinet. (I
could transpose on the fly without too much difficulty, but somehow it
seems more *honourable* to produce proper parts. When I've done it,
anyone here who wants is welcome to a pair of C clarinet parts;-)

That's kind of you. I don't think we have plans to do that, though.
