I passed along a meesage about Brahms and his playing ppiano in Bordellos to
"Future hall of fame" radio announcer, Dennis Owens, at WGMS in Washington,
DC, probably one of a few remaining commercial classical stations left in
the U.S. and here is his take on the Bordellos. Dennis has been at the
station since 1966 and they do a great job on the air. www.wgms.com.

In Maine, of all places, there is WBACH, www.wbachradio.com ! A network of
commercial radio stations up and down the coast line, playing classical
music.

"I don't think you could describe Brahms as playing in BORDELLOS.....it is
generally understood that the atmosphere was more of the sleazy bars
character, especially frequented by wharf front types and sailors and
stuff....who wanted to hear the popular songs of the day....and he bashed
them out on the piano!!!!"
