The general thrust of the article is that color and sound are both
related to frequency, and therefore they are more likely to interact
with each other than are the other senses.

One's pressure waves, one's electro-magnetic waves, and they're separated in
frequency by many orders of magnitude (red light is over 420,000,000,000,000
Hz!)

Thinking that there's some interaction is quite a stretch. The areas of the
brain interpreting vision and the areas interpreting sound are not the same,
and our vision detection systems have processing that our aural systems do
not (edge detection, horizonal/vertical shape analysis, motion detection,
etc.).

Both are complex systems (I'm more familiar with the vision system having
been involved in computer graphics/photorealism in years past), but I'm
thinking the article you're reading may be quite dated.
