My apologies, then, because as I've said here before, I've heard a tiny
handful of people in the trains who are so good (I trust you're among
them??) that I wonder what they're doing down there. I know, making money.
I think I've told about the guy I saw one night several years ago, YATSP
(Yet Another Tenor Sax Player), who got on with a horn that looked like it
had barely survived a day on Omaha Beach, and then proceeded to play like
John Coltrane or Lester Young. I was floored. I rarely give money to
subway musicians because frankly I think, pace what I said above, most of
them suck, but this guy should have been playing the clubs...he was that
good.
