John DeLancie was living in northern California in the area of Grass
Valley. It lies to the east of San Francisco in the much less densely
populated area of Nevada County. His particular illness was lukemia but
he may have died from an ancillary reason. He went into a hospice about
a week ago and was well cared for.

John was still active as a teacher and had given a seminar in France
only about 6 months ago. He had become fluent in French.

I am quite friendly with his brother, Richard DeLancie and wife Samira
Baroodi. Both live in San Francisco and it was Samira who told me of
his illness some time ago as well as notifying me that he had died.
