...well, I've already agreed with the craftsman that this is an
experiment. I have no preconceived notions. If it fails, it will not
be a reflection in any way on the craftsman who agreed to my
'off-the-wall' request.
Actually, I'm grateful that there are craftsmen who are willing to try
these things. It adds pleasure and just a bit of excitement to life.
I could not possibly build one of these pieces myself.

If I had Stadler's mouthpiece, would I play better? Or do I need his
ligature also? Or perhaps he and I are different persons? If I had
Mozart's pen, would I compose better?
