I'm still the principal, theoretically until September, though we don't
play after June 1 until September. But I've retired as of the end of this
season, essentially to have a more normal family life - you know, home at
night and on weekends! After 23 years, it was time, and the early
retirement package was as good as it would ever be in a regional
orchestra.

I heard Ralph Skiano's final round yesterday, and he's a fine player. He
was at our rehearsal tonight, and I had a chance to meet him and chat for
a while during our break. He seems like a very nice guy, too. I'm looking
forward to hearing him in the orchestra next season.

p.s. I promise I'll change my signature!!
