I met him once and asked him what reeds he uses. He replied "Don`t ask me,
ask my driver - he fixes them!"
As for being the composer of Stranger on the Shore, well that`s news to me.
I used to work with an English arranger called Leon Young. Leon passed on
some 10 years ago. He did a lot of
string backings and directing for Acker`s albums etc etc etc etc
