On the strength of Lelia's recommendation, I bought one of the Antonio
Cartellieri CDs (played by Dieter Klocker) from Barnes & Noble. It's
beautiful and it's refreshing. I'll add my recommendation to Lelia's.
The flute concerto (on the same disc) is also first rate.

Very 'happy' music, both of them in (of course) major keys. <Bill
ducks in case any rotten eggs come flying his way>

This recording emphasizes the importance of the smaller labels who are
bringing 'new' recordings (Cartellieri lived 1772-1807, so the
composition itself is old) to the market. I'm off to the store to buy
another of this series of Cartellieri recordings. As Lelia said, the
liner notes are above average as well.

....and going from the sublime to the amusingly ridiculous, I watched a
SpongeBob episode tonight wherein Mr. Squid learns proper technique for
the clarinet. The audio ranged from kazoo to saxophone
(approximately). I'm not sure that any of it was clarinet. But it
was amusing.

All of you *do* watch SpongeBob and SquarePants, don't you?
