Robert, I apologize for my rude reply. It's just that the "Which Is
Best?" question gets asked *so* often, and there's only one answer ---
namely, that it's different for each person and the only way to know is
to try them yourself.

The way that you worded your question indicates that you know this
already, and hence my wisecrack was unjustified. Also, each time that
the question is answered, some interesting bit of information can pop up
--- such as that plastic mouthpieces aren't "crystal", that glass
mouthpieces can be resurfaced, and so forth. So the conversation isn't
wasted.

Neverthless, for a while at least, I'm adding a tagline to my signature.
Perhaps it will forestall a few repetitions of the question.

If I had Stadler's mouthpiece, would I play better? Or do I need his
ligature also? Or perhaps he and I are different persons? If I had
Mozart's pen, would I compose better?
