Nancy,

Doesn't your orchestra have an players committee? Most, if not all,
community orchestras in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area now have certain minimum
conditions that must be met to protect players from having to perform in
conditions of the sort you describe.

I often play park concerts with the Dallas Sym, Ft. Worth Sym and the
Richardson Sym....but always under a portable stage/shell with cover. It's
hot at times...but never without cover.
