The lack of traffic on this thread suggests that it really doesn't make much
difference which side of the barrel you tune from. If either cork gets
wobbly, that condition is a separate issue and should be fixed - anything
that wobbles while you're playing can't be good. :-)

That said, those of us who mostly play orchestral music probably tune more
often between the barrel and the top main section - not the mouthpiece end.
That way, the barrel's position can be kept intact when you need to move the
mouthpiece from one instrument to the other (A-Bb-C).
