Funny ya'll are talking about this.
I 'think' this was my method of tonguing for many years. I never could tell
what happened when I articulateda note, but I was pretty sure it wasn't my
tongue hitting the reed. I have learned to tongue the "proper" way but
still sometimes use this "air thing" when I'm lazy.
