Off topic.......

During the past 4-5 years that I've subscribed to this list, I've
changed my email address occasionally because my address gets
'harvested' from the archives by too many spammers. The only (albeit
temporary) cure is to kill the old name and choose a new one.

My ISP (Microsoft) warns me each time that my old name will die forever
and cannot be revived. Am I sure that I want to kill it?

......well, tonight when I logged on, the system listed every email
address that I've ever used since I became a WebTV customer, and the
system asked me which name I wanted to logon with tonight.

It made me remember how Nixon and many other people have incorrectly
assumed that data truly disappears when the user hits the delete key.
