Having played a rossi clarinet for well over a year (I now play yamaha sevs).I think they (the rossis)are a very well made set of clarinets! No clarnet maker rossi or yamaha, buffet ect. can make a perfect clarinet. They have no idea what kind of mouthpiece and reed combo you're going to use. Remember this.....The Moenig Barrel phenominon started matching large bore mouthpieces to small bore (r13type) clarinets. If I play a refaced M13 vandoren on a Buffet I prefer an untapered barrel. I'm going to go out on the limb here and say after years of playing in studios, I can't hear the difference that a barrel makes! it might feel different tone a little different, but I really believe that differnce in not an audible one.
