That's cool how you're able to get so close with a linear
approximation. I wouldn't have thought it would be that
good over such a large interval. The number of semitones
from frequency f1 to f2 would be 12 log2 (f2/f1) , so
435hz to 446hz comes out to 0.432, pretty close!
