included:

Isn't bending a note from one pitch to another yet another form of
connecting two notes (besides slurring, tonguing, and glottal
articulation)?

I know a middle school student (she attended the dinner when Tony Pay
performed in our town) has multiple oral defects, and she articulates
purely with her diaphragm or rib cage (not sure which) when she isn't
playing legato.
