Well, the big question is : Resotone or Wood?

I picked up my Selmer CL301 Resotone Clarinet.. which require actually
very little "breaking in" mainly because it is not a temperamental medium
such as Wood.

Now if your Clarinet is -wood-.. then let the fun begin.

Breaking in a wooden clarinet is just about the same as an Oboe, Bassoon,
or any other wood Instrument: Patience and the serenity to know when to
quit fussing:)

"Playing time" is generally no more then an hour every day , as the wood
will contract or expand, while "settleling" and adjusting to the climate
that you live in.. ~Thoroughly~ swab the instrument after you are done
playing, as moisture is the bane of all new wooden Instruments.

Bores- Oil them SPARINGLY about once every two weeks for the first month
, and then simply one a month afterwards.

It will probably be about three weeks to a month before you can really
play full time, though the time period varies from instrument to
instrument and greatly on the particular wood used.

Additionally, one a month or so, add a small drop of key oil to the key
joints . This keeps you and your clarinet happy:)

When in doubt, look up the website for your Clarinet's company- they
generally have a section to help you with breaking in and caring for your
instrument.
