Hello,

a lot of what is said in Keith Stein's book can be debated or even doubted
- like the example you mentioned. Try to read up on the themes in different
books to help you get a "wider perspective" on things.

I've been reading this book too, for my method-classes in conservatory, and
my teacher mentioned other "things" in the book that she thought was
"strange".. but I guess the book is this person's view on how to do things,
so you are allowed to feel differently about it..

As for the "O" embouchure; it basically means that you are supposed to
shape your lips like an O (the letter "O") around the mouthpiece - not, for
instance clench down on it with your teeth or anything like that.. (sorry
if it's "stupid" or too obvious..!)

If you don't make mistakes, you're not working on hard enough problems. And
that's a big mistake.
