I currently use a Bundy/Selmer 1400 for all my jazz work. It has the large
.590 bore, favored by jazz players, like the old Selmer Balanced Tones. I
have it tweaked up pretty well, and it plays quite nicely and with a big
sound. As soon as I get the rest of the minor bugs out of my "new"
Balanced Tone I may switch over to it for most jazz work, but since it has
the articulated C#/G#, it will not fit in my Traypack sax case. Note that
only the 1400 has the large bore, the more common 1401 (Bundys are marked
"577") have the smaller .577 bore.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
