Subj: [kl] problems with clarinets
Date: Mon, 22 Apr 2002 20:47:35 -0400

Hi everyone,

I have a very strange problem that I've never had before and I'm hoping
someone can help me. I was practising my clarinet tonight and everything
was fine and I took a half hour break from playing. I went to play my A
clarinet again and the bottom notes in the middle register (B,C,D) wouldn't
speak (like there was a leak) I checked for leaks and it was sealing fine.
I then when to play my B flat clarinet and the same thing was happening. I
changed reeds and then decided that maybe there was a crack in my
mouthpiece. I switched mouthpieces and had the same problem. I'm going to
take it to a repairman tomorrow but am at a loss as to how this could
happen. I feel a bit crazy posting to the list but have a rehearsal
tomorrow night with rhapsody in blue, Copland, etc.

thanks

Janis
