Subj: [kl] See what I am resorting to!?

Maybe I missed it, being that I get the digest version. But I did not see
any suggestions for another Guisganderie type of "barnburner" piece to
round-off a recital. You know? A piece with 10,000 more notes than it
should have...all in the space of 2 to 3 minutes.

Well...now I am resorting to my old teacher's, Al Ascercion, repertoire
(minus the circular breathing and double/triple tonguing). I am thinking
about using the TRANSCRIPTION of the concerto by Tchaikovsky, fourth
movement. That would give me the Bartok "Contrasts" and this piece for my
Fall recital. Though the Bartok is certainly 'meat-n-potatoes', I would
like some suggestions on some solo literature with 'meat-n-potatoes'
fortitude to fill out the concert. It must be something I have never
performed publicly and contrasting in either/or style and period from the
"Contrasts". I have performed all of the Brahms, Mozart and Weber clarinet
works. Just did the Stanford Sonata but love that thickness like the Brahms
rep. Any suggestions?

Robert

P.S. My recital last week turned out to be a nice mixture: Tartini,
Stanford, Messiaen, Stravinsky, JeanJean (Faust et Maurice). Something
along those lines of balance of style would be cool. :-)
