Actually physical examination of a clarinet will show you what you need to
know (since we can examine the physical specimen, there are no "closely
guarded secrets"). Bore diameters differ between models, as does the wall
thickness, tone hole diameters, lengths, etc. The clarinet as a whole is a
giant acoustical tradeoff ... each manufacturer tries to determine the best
(or most saleable - that may or may not be whatever the "best" is) set of
compromises, puts a bunch of marketing fog around the new instrument, and
hopes to convince some part of the public that it's better than sliced
bread.

And sometimes it is ...
