I play a Buffet RC that I purchased in 1976 or 1977 that is a great horn. I tried a number of instruments at that time and the RC stood out above the rest for me. The pitch of the instrument is excellent and I really like the sound. Anyone who has played it has said that it plays as good as any of the best clarinets they have played. I don't think there were a lot of people playing the RC at that time. I am not sure exactly when the RC model was introduced. I should have bought an A to go with this instrument at the time. I wish I could find an A RC that was made at this same time and see if it plays as well as the RC B-flat I have (anyone have one they would be willing to sell at a good price?). I have not tried the newer RC's but the one I have is an excellent instrument.
