Let your jaw "wobble" up and down underneath the reed. Always use this
"wobble" to <apply> and <relax> pressure with the lower lip on the reed. A
large "drop" will create a wide vib. A fast "wobble" will create a fast vib.
Slow, narrow jaw movement will give you a slow and narrow vib. It`s easy
really. Just remember to exercise enough control to avoid the usual pitfalls
like squeaks and grunts. There is a school of thought which hates vibrato on
the clarinet - really, really taboo. A popular use of vibrato on most
instruments is to use it on longer tones only, starting the long tone with
none, then gradually introducing it, thus giving the long tone a living
representation of it`s duration.
