Two simple explanations:

1. Was there a running fan (ceiling, box, etc) anywhere in close
proximity?

2. How close were you to the stand?

Playing near a fan would cause this phenomenon (I deal with it annually
from March to November when I practice at home; it gets to hot to turn the
fan off).

I've also found that some music stands conduct the vibrations of my
instrument quite well, and as a result, the stand "sings" with me when I
play.
