Al -

Going from a tuba embouchure to a reed embouchure seems that it might be a
natural for a double-lip reed embouchure. It will keep you from biting too
hard and reduce the excessive squeaking. It will certainly be more like an
embouchure that you are accustomed to.

Try an 80# mutt that thinks it's a lap dog cuddly type thingy. 12 # tabbies
become a pleasure.............;o)

I can think of another option to the breathing bag. It's called a 4 valve
BBb Tuba.........I'm a tuba player making the move to include single
reeds......(specifically clarinets)

Any metal oldies for sale out there in klarinet land for a reasonable "as
is" price that need overhaul? (please no missing and/or broken parts that
can not be repaired or easily replaced?) I find repairing easy. Playing
reeds in any form is the challenge for me. Keep wanting to bite the mouth
piece and make 'em squeak. When I try to tune, I sound like a flock of
ducks.

Also actively searching for a Contra Alto. Any design, will need overhaul
[and want to be priced accordingly] for a good home. May also want a Contra
Bass, a Bass, an alto and an e flat soprano. Bb soprano also welcome. They
will also need and/or want repair.

"Why and what does a tuba player want these for?", you ask. Well, not only
for me, but one of the bands I play in desire to own any and all of these to
use for clarinetists who can't afford to buy horns to double on, and as
recruiting tools for past players that want to return after a few years out
in the cold and have no horn. ;o)

Also need an education....What are the types of key arangements? What are
the differences? What pitches are clarinets built in (ie. A440 etc) ?
