Karl -

Many years ago I encountered a hygienist like you have but, only about
twice. I didn't have to change dentists - she was fired. The several
hygienists that my current dentist has had in the last 8 years have never
given more than a slight discomfort for an hour or two. Now, with the
latest equipment and new techniques, there has been no lingering discomfort
and very little pain during the cleaning. Of course, it is somewhat
expensive - not big city - but it is worth it.

My dentist keeps up with the latest equipment giving his patients nearly
painless dentistry. I've had three root canals and crowns in the last
several years. The only pain has been the cost. The procedure is mainly
tedious. I've even dozed off several times.

Karl, I think that you need a different hygienist or dentist.

Here's to painless teeth cleaning.

You mean the aching gums and pain for a day and a half afterward when I
chew? I'm grateful those cleanings only come twice a year.
