Ok, would anyone like to hear about new repertoire?
Different e-groups have different criteria. The MLA-L music
librarians' list WANTS the info, and orchestralist has a specific method
for posting repertoire info to the list. Some lists prohibit it
entirely or limit it mightily.
But it seems even the introduction of a publisher sent one person
screaming off into the "unsubscribe me immediately" mode (which created
its own problems in terms of list traffic).
But it is one useful alternative to the endless "netiquette and
language" thread (which is little different than the subject has been
for the past 12 years).
I mean, if we can discuss "branded" products like reeds, mouthpieces,
instruments and cases, would not a polite mention of a new music
publication be welcomed? (Over the years I have seen repeated
list/newsgroup spamming by advertisers in consistently annoying manners,
and that isn't what I am suggesting at all.)
Otherwise, if that's not appropriate, if anyone wants to hear
privately about new clarinet music *please* drop me an e-mail and I'll
put you on a list to receive notice by e-mail or postcard (your choice)
when a new piece is available which includes a clarinet of any type, or
any woodwind music for that matter.
