Wow, it's wonderful reading everyone's
suggestions on memorization. Bravo
Tony, can't believe you played the Berio
from memory!

Although memorizing has always been especially
difficult for me, a pianist friend once gave me
some advice. He took a course in (GEEZ, wish
I could remember the name of the class!)
memorization which stressed a specific way of
going about it. The most important thing he
told me was that it is BEST TO BEGIN MEMORIZING
AS YOU ARE FIRST LEARNING THE PIECE. The next was
to understand the parts as many of you have
mentioned and string them together using any
method that helps you recall the correct order.

Hope this helps...now if I could just remember
where I put the name and number of that pianist....
just kidding!
